I painted As She Falls in multiple layers and washes of warm tones, adding salt for texture and ending the piece with light edge washes of watercolor shimmer paints in mainly gold. The end of the painting was lightly glazed with Indian Yellow to warm up the fall aubergine tones.
My vision was to take us all back to our childhoods as we are running towards that pile of leaves, with all the textures and layers, the smells and that delightful scrunching sound as we jump. I hope it brings up good memories for you as well.
