the rooster

This vivid piece was just in my head and flowed through my brushes onto a 20x20 canvas. Watercolor on canvas can be tricky. First you have to scrub the sizing off of the canvas so the water medium doesn't bead up. It's much less forgiving than painting on rag paper, so it forces me to paint looser and with more purpose.

This lovely white rooster is obviously bright and happy amongst the cosmos flowers in the garden.

This canvas will arrive ready to hang as it doesn't need to be framed. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it!
